LONGi, a global leader in solar technology, today signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Energy Egypt (UEE) Limited to deploy a 20 MWp hybrid solar power system.
The project is targeting:
- >70% reduction in diesel consumption
- 24,800 MWh of annual clean energy (powering 6,000+ Egyptian households)
- 14,000+ tonnes of COโ emissions avoided yearly (equivalent to removing 3,000 gasoline vehicles).
LONGi will support the project with its Hi-MO 9 modules featuring HPBC 2.0 technology. The module delivers a power output of up to 670W with a conversion efficiency of up to 24.8%, demonstrating exceptionally low degradation even under high-temperature, high-humidity, and other challenging conditions.
This initiative supports Egyptโs national goal of 42% renewable energy by 2030 and showcases solarโs role in decarbonizing industrial operations while enhancing energy security.
โThis project will exemplifies how solar innovation can transform even the most energy-intensive industries,โ saidMr. Felix Wu, Sales Director, LONGi MEA&CA, Africa. โBy combining our BC technology with hybrid systems, weโre helping UEE achieve ESG goals while bolstering Egyptโs renewable leadership.โ
โPartnering with LONGi accelerates our transition to sustainable operations,โ added Mr Kamel Elsawi, President of United Energy Egypt. โThis model sets a precedent for oilfield decarbonization across MENA.โ
