TotalEnergies ENEOS has completed the commissioning of a 680-kilowatt peak (kWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at TechnipFMC’s manufacturing facility in Nusajaya, Malaysia. The installation marks a significant milestone in TechnipFMC’s drive toward decarbonization and sustainable energy use across its operations in the Asia Pacific region.

The solar system, comprising more than 1,100 panels, is expected to generate approximately 915 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity annually. This will meet around 20% of the facility’s energy demand and is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 500 tons each year.

Delivered through an 18-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the project required no upfront capital investment from TechnipFMC. TotalEnergies ENEOS fully financed, engineered, and installed the system and will be responsible for its ongoing operations and maintenance. Under the agreement, TechnipFMC will purchase the solar energy at a fixed rate, allowing for predictable and cleaner energy costs over the long term.

Alexandru Buzatu, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific, commented on the collaboration, stating, “This project is a meaningful step forward in TechnipFMC’s sustainability journey. As their trusted energy partner, we are proud to support their carbon reduction goals in the Asia Pacific region.”

Alberto Oliveira, Manufacturing Director at TechnipFMC’s Nusajaya facility, emphasized the company’s commitment to responsible operations. “Partnering with TotalEnergies ENEOS on this renewable energy initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible operations. By leveraging clean energy, we are actively reducing our environmental impact and advancing our broader mission of creating long-term value for the communities we serve,” he said.

The partnership reinforces both companies’ sustainability strategies and aligns with broader regional goals for clean energy adoption and industrial decarbonization.
