AMPIN Energy Transition, one of Indiaโ€™s leading renewable energy companies, has successfully commissioned its first solar open access project in the Eastern region with the launch of a 50 MWp solar plant in Village Gatapar, Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh. The project supplies clean energy to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. as well as one of the largest steel manufacturers in the state, marking AMPINโ€™s debut in Chhattisgarh.

Completed in a record nine months, the project holds strategic significance for AMPIN as it expands the companyโ€™s renewable energy portfolio in Eastern India while also highlighting Chhattisgarhโ€™s progressive Group Captive/Open Access (GEOA) policy and favourable business environment. These factors have made the state an attractive destination for renewable energy investment.

The 50 MWp plant is expected to generate about 78.21 million units of green electricity each year. This will help reduce nearly 64,132 tonnes of COโ‚‚ emissions annuallyโ€”an impact comparable to planting around 3.05 million trees, removing 13,942 cars from the road, or powering nearly 65,175 households. Such benefits align strongly with Indiaโ€™s broader clean energy and sustainability goals.

For industrial customers, the project enables the replacement of more than 80% of conventional grid power with renewable energy, resulting in estimated energy cost savings of 30โ€“40% compared to prevailing Discom tariffs. Beyond cost efficiency, the project ensures reliable and predictable power supply, supporting industries in their long-term sustainability strategies.

AMPIN is further strengthening its presence in Chhattisgarh with an additional 21 MWp project already under construction and another 100 MWp of renewable energy capacity under development. With a growing portfolio across solar, wind, hybrid solutions, and other energy transition enablers, AMPIN Energy Transition continues to establish itself as a trusted partner for commercial and industrial consumers across India, driving sustainable, affordable, and scalable clean energy solutions for the future.
