ACME Subsidiary Secures ₹47.40 Crore Change-in-Law Award from RERC, Boosting 250 MW Solar Project Revenues

ACME Aklera Power Technology Private Limited, a subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings Limited, has received a change-in-law compensation of approximately ₹47.40 crore from the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC). The ruling is expected to enhance the revenue of ACME’s 250 MW solar project contracted with SECI by nearly 3.5% over the next 15 years.

According to the order, the compensation covers the imposition of basic customs duty (BCD) on solar cells and modules, the increase in GST from 5% to 12%, and the associated carrying cost. The approved amount will be disbursed through an annuity mechanism at a 9% discount rate across a 15-year period, enabling the developer to recover unforeseen regulatory cost escalations.

Industry observers note that the decision not only stabilizes project economics but also sets an important precedent for regulatory clarity and cost recovery mechanisms in India’s renewable energy sector.

RERC’s timely adjudication and directive for structured compensation have strengthened investor confidence, reflecting a consistently supportive regulatory environment for renewable energy development in the country.
