A 150MW fishery-photovoltaic (PV) project in Ningbo City has been successfully connected to the grid, showcasing the high reliability and performance of Trinasolar’s Vertex N 700W+ modules in offshore environments.

The project adopts a fishery-PV integration model, installing solar panels 2.5 meters above fish ponds to support both aquaculture and renewable energy generation. According to project officials, the shading from the panels helps maintain cooler water temperatures, reduces evaporation, and limits sunlight penetration, thereby improving water quality and reducing algae growth. These factors contribute to both environmental sustainability and enhanced economic output.

Located near the port, the plant faces extreme coastal conditions including storms, high humidity, and exposure to salt. Trinasolar stated that such conditions demand exceptional module durability. To address this, the company developed dual-coated glass and co-extruded POE materials to improve resistance to heat, moisture, seawater, and UV radiation. The Vertex N 700W+ modules deployed at the site achieved Top Performer status across all seven Kiwa PVEL reliability tests, including PID, DH, TC, and MSS — underscoring their suitability for harsh offshore environments.

Beyond reliability, maintaining stable power output under low-irradiance conditions is a key requirement for coastal regions. Trinasolar noted that the Vertex N 700W+ modules deliver strong generation performance even during cloudy, foggy, or low-light periods, ensuring consistent energy yields throughout the day.

The project is expected to produce approximately 200 million kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to saving over 60,000 tons of standard coal and reducing 150,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.

“This fishery-PV project stands as another compelling example of the global deployment and proven reliability of our Vertex N 700W+ modules,” said Vincent Wu of Trinasolar. “Looking ahead, we remain committed to delivering tailored, high-efficiency solutions across diverse application scenarios to meet the evolving needs of customers worldwide.”
