ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured 130 MW in the e-reverse auction conducted by REMC Limited (REMCL) for its 1,000 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) Renewable Energy tender. The company emerged as the winning bidder with a tariff of ₹4.35 per unit, and the Letter of Award is expected to be issued within the timelines outlined in the tender guidelines.
The tender aims to supply firm, consistent renewable power to Indian Railways, which requires a continuous energy profile to meet its unique operational load. Under this arrangement, Railways will sign a direct Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders, eliminating the need for any intermediary procurer.
The discovered tariff underscores the increasing competitiveness of renewable energy in delivering high-capacity-utilisation, round-the-clock power through a combination of solar, wind, and battery-based storage solutions at cost-effective rates.
Under the award, ACME Solar must supply RTC renewable power complemented by dispatchable sources and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) from ISTS-connected projects. The project mandates a minimum annual availability of 75% for the first three years from commissioning and 85% thereafter, requiring optimal deployment of solar and battery assets along with complementary wind generation.
ACME Solar is required to commission the project within 30 months of signing the PPA. The company noted that accelerated execution will be supported by existing land and connectivity readiness within its development portfolio.
