Entergy Texas announced that construction of the Orange County Advanced Power Station (OCAPS) has entered its final phase, marking a key milestone in the company’s efforts to deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable power to Southeast Texas.

The project is now more than 80% constructed, with overall progress reaching 90%, keeping OCAPS on schedule to begin serving customers by summer 2026.

Keith Pollock, Project Director, said the team is proud to see the development move into its final stretch. “Our team has worked diligently to keep construction on track, and we’re proud of the progress being made every day. As we move into the last phase, we’re focused on safely delivering a facility that will serve this region for decades,” he said.

Once operational, OCAPS will provide approximately 1,215 MW of power—enough to supply electricity to the equivalent of 230,000 homes. The plant is expected to play a significant role in supporting regional economic growth while reducing emissions through modern, high-efficiency technology.

OCAPS is positioned as a major infrastructure upgrade that strengthens power reliability across Southeast Texas while contributing to long-term sustainability goals.
