NTPC Green Energy Limited has invited bids to develop a key power infrastructure project at the Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub in Andhra Pradesh. The project includes the construction of a 132/33 kV substation using Gas Insulated Switchgear technology with two 80 MVA transformers, designed to support reliable power for advanced hydrogen production facilities. The turnkey contract includes complete responsibility for design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning, along with five years of operation and maintenance services.
The tender has been issued under IFB No. NGEL-CS-5861-GH2HUB-PSE-PUD-1-001, and bids are scheduled to open on January 6, 2026. Contractors interested in participating must meet strict financial and technical qualifications, including strong experience in large-scale electrical substation development and EPC project execution. The tender also specifies a financial eligibility requirement involving an Annual Average Turnover of โน49 crore, ensuring that only proven companies with solid performance records participate.
The scope of work covers a wide range of components, including GIS switchgear, medium- and low-voltage systems, SCADA automation, protection and control systems, AC and DC auxiliary power supplies, cable networks, earthing systems, and lightning and surge protection mechanisms. The project also requires seamless integration with the APTRANSCO transmission network to ensure smooth operation and stable power flow.
This substation is a crucial element of the Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub, considered one of Indiaโs most significant clean energy projects. The facility will play an important role in supporting the countryโs decarbonisation agenda and expanding the renewable hydrogen ecosystem. By strengthening grid infrastructure at strategic locations, the project aims to improve energy resilience and accelerate industrial-scale hydrogen production.
