Vikran Engineering Limited (VEL), a growing multi-sector EPC company in India, has secured a major order worth ₹2,035.26 crore from Onix Renewables Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), to develop 600 MW AC solar power projects across multiple locations in Maharashtra. The order, finalized on December 23, 2025, involves executing the projects on a turnkey EPC basis, covering all stages from design and engineering to procurement, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning. The scope of work also includes supplying key components such as solar PV modules and inverters.
The projects are expected to be completed within a 12-month timeframe. Rakesh Markhedkar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikran Engineering, said that the order is an important milestone for the company and reflects strong momentum in its renewable energy EPC business. He highlighted that it is a vote of confidence in the company’s engineering capabilities, project management skills, and ability to deliver large-scale solar projects with speed and quality.
Markhedkar added that the order strengthens Vikran Engineering’s order book and positions the company for sustained growth while contributing to India’s clean energy goals. The win also significantly enhances the company’s renewable energy portfolio and complements its existing presence in power transmission and distribution, water infrastructure, and railway electrification.
With this project, Vikran Engineering aims to expand its participation in large, complex infrastructure projects while maintaining high standards of execution and delivery. The company’s strategic focus on renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure development aligns with India’s push for clean and reliable energy solutions. This order reinforces Vikran Engineering’s commitment to supporting the nation’s transition to renewable energy through timely and efficient project execution.
The 600 MW projects in Maharashtra mark one of the largest single EPC orders for the company, underlining the growing demand for solar energy in the region and Vikran Engineering’s increasing role as a trusted partner in India’s renewable energy sector.
