Axis Energy has proposed an investment of ₹31,750 crore in Odisha to develop large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple clean energy segments, reinforcing the state’s role in India’s energy transition.
The proposed investment portfolio comprises around 5,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, spanning wind, solar, agri-photovoltaics (Agri-PV), hybrid power projects, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Once implemented, the projects are expected to significantly enhance Odisha’s clean energy infrastructure and position the state as an emerging hub for future-ready renewable energy development.
According to Axis Energy, the planned projects are also expected to generate more than 5,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to local economic development alongside clean energy expansion.
The company has expressed its intent to collaborate closely with the Government of Odisha to facilitate project execution and accelerate the state’s sustainable growth objectives. The proposed investment aligns with broader national efforts to scale up renewable energy capacity, strengthen energy security, and support India’s long-term decarbonisation goals.
