SolaREIT Appoints Jay Carlis and Laurie Mazer to Strengthen Leadership Team

SolaREITโ„ข, a solar and battery storage-focused real estate investment company, has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of two senior renewable energy professionals as it scales its real estate capital solutions for clean energy developers across the United States.

The company announced that Jay Carlis has joined as Executive Vice President of Business Development, while Laurie Mazer has been appointed Senior Development Advisor. The additions are aimed at strengthening SolaREITโ€™s origination and project development capabilities amid growing demand for innovative financing structures in the solar and energy storage sector.

Commenting on the appointments, Laura Pagliarulo, Chief Executive Officer of SolaREIT, said the new leadership will play a critical role as the company prepares for an active year ahead. She noted that Carlisโ€™ extensive experience in origination and deal execution, combined with Mazerโ€™s technical and development expertise, will support SolaREITโ€™s efforts to scale developer-focused capital solutions in 2026.

Carlis brings more than 15 years of experience in renewable energy origination. Prior to joining SolaREIT, he served as Senior Vice President of Origination at Pine Gate Renewables and as Senior Director at AES Corporation. Over the course of his career, Carlis has originated and closed more than 1,000 MW of utility-scale solar power purchase agreements, working with corporate and institutional clients such as Amazon, Google, and the University of Pennsylvania. He was also part of the leadership team at Community Energy, which was acquired by AES in 2021.

Mazer joins SolaREIT with over two decades of experience in clean energy project development. She is the co-founder of Formation Energy LLC and Principal at Mazer Consulting LLC. Previously, she served as Vice President of Development at Lightsource bp, where she was part of the founding team of the companyโ€™s U.S. operations. During her tenure, she oversaw the development of seven construction-ready projects and helped build a multi-gigawatt development pipeline.

To date, the company has provided real estate financing for more than 3 GW of clean energy projects, representing a combined project value exceeding $5 billion
