Enphase Energy, Inc., a global leader in energy technology, has commenced production shipments of its IQ9N-3P™ Commercial Microinverter across the United States, the company announced. Manufactured domestically, the new microinverter is designed to meet Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) compliance and domestic content requirements for eligible commercial solar projects.
The IQ9N-3P represents Enphase’s first microinverter powered by gallium nitride (GaN) technology and supports three-phase 480Y/277 V (wye) grid configurations without external transformers. The product aims to simplify system design, reduce installation and balance-of-system costs, and enhance efficiency for high-power commercial solar projects. Its high-performance GaN power conversion enables industry-leading efficiency of up to 97.5% while supporting solar panels up to 600 W.
Jon Wedel, co-owner and vice president of commercial at Colorado-based Namaste Solar, said, “Because of the new 480 V solution, we can pursue more straightforward applications and install systems more efficiently. The U.S. manufacturing and domestic content qualification make navigating the current market much easier while delivering a top-quality solution for our clients.”
The IQ9N-3P microinverters comply with UL 1741-SB and IEEE 1547-2018 standards, including rapid shutdown, phase balancing, voltage/frequency ride-through, and loss-of-phase detection, supporting safe and reliable grid operations. Enphase commercial systems leverage the IQ® Gateway Commercial Pro as a communication and control hub, enabling real-time monitoring, energy management, and advanced grid features such as export limiting.
Drew Collom, co-founder of Quality Solar, noted, “With production in the U.S. and domestic content alignment, we can design more efficient systems, meet federal sourcing requirements, and scale projects over time without costly redesigns.”
The IQ9N-3P microinverters designated with a “DOM” suffix are produced with U.S. content, enabling compliance with the Buy America Act and Build America, Buy America Act. Eligible projects may qualify for domestic content bonus tax credits. The IQ9N-3P comes with a 25-year limited warranty, and the IQ Gateway Commercial Pro is backed by a 15-year limited warranty.
Aaron Gordon, SVP and general manager of Enphase’s systems business unit, emphasized, “By manufacturing this product in the U.S., we help commercial projects meet domestic content requirements while delivering reliability, flexibility, and long-term value.”
