Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with India in the areas of clean energy and water management. The discussions took place during a meeting between Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and senior Indian diplomats, including Dr Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to the UAE, and Satish Sivan, Consul-General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

During the meeting, Al Tayer stressed DEWA’s focus on building strong ties with diplomatic missions and expanding partnerships with Indian companies working in the energy and water sectors. He highlighted that DEWA’s long-term projects are guided by the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These strategies aim to ensure that 100 percent of Dubai’s energy production comes from clean sources by 2050.

Al Tayer also shared details about major projects, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, described as the world’s largest single-site solar park. He noted that its current and upcoming phases offer significant opportunities for investors under the independent power producer model. He further mentioned DEWA’s pilot green hydrogen project, which is expected to grow into a larger hub for innovation and investment. In addition, he referred to the Hatta Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant and ongoing smart grid and digital transformation initiatives under Digital DEWA.
