NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with two new solar capacity additions announced on February 20, 2026. The disclosures were made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, reflecting the companyโs continued progress toward strengthening Indiaโs clean energy capacity.
The first addition comes from the Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat. NGELโs wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, declared the commercial operation of the second part capacity of 165 MW. This capacity became effective at 00:00 hours on February 20, 2026. Before this commissioning, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stood at 8,827.68 MW. With the inclusion of this Gujarat-based project, the groupโs installed capacity increased to 8,992.68 MW.
On the same day, the company issued another disclosure regarding a solar project in Andhra Pradesh. The project has been developed by Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd.. This company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, which is a joint venture of NGEL. Based on a certificate issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a part capacity of 158.4 MW out of a total 250 MW solar PV project was declared commercially operational.
This Andhra Pradesh capacity became effective from February 14, 2026. At the time of this filing, the groupโs commercial capacity had already been updated to 8,992.68 MW following the Khavda-II addition. With the commissioning of the additional 158.4 MW, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has now reached 9,151.08 MW.
Both announcements were formally signed by Manish Kumar, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Green Energy Limited. The consecutive additions underline the companyโs steady growth in solar energy deployment across multiple states through its subsidiaries and joint ventures.
