Kenya Clean Energy Week 2026 to Convene East Africa’s Leading Solar, Storage, and Smart Energy Leaders in Nairobi

The momentum is building as Kenya Clean Energy Week 2026 prepares to host its 5th Edition on 16 April 2026 at Emara Hotel Ole Sereni, Nairobi, Kenya. Organised by FirstView and powered by SolarQuarter, the event is set to deliver a high impact regional convergence of East Africa’s most influential clean energy leaders, technology innovators, project developers and policy stakeholders.

Positioned as a high level, industry driven platform, the conference will bring together 300 plus decision makers and more than 150 global companies representing developers, EPC companies, utilities, financial institutions, manufacturers and policymakers. The gathering will focus on the strategic priorities shaping Kenya’s energy transition, including solar deployment, storage integration, distributed energy expansion, financing frameworks, and enabling policy environments for renewable growth.

The conference agenda will address the most pressing operational and strategic questions shaping Kenya’s renewable energy sector and the broader East African energy transition.

One of the key sessions, Grid Expansion and System Planning for Kenya’s Large Scale Renewable Projects, will examine how Kenya’s grid infrastructure can evolve to integrate higher shares of solar and storage while maintaining reliability and flexibility. Discussions will explore forecasting tools, digital grid management, regional power trading opportunities and best practices for hybrid solar and battery storage deployment.

Another important session, Distributed Clean Energy for Community and Enterprise Empowerment in Kenya, will explore how distributed solar systems, mini grids and commercial and industrial energy solutions can accelerate county level electrification while enabling economic growth for businesses, agriculture and local industries. The session will also discuss innovative financing models and the integration of electric mobility infrastructure with distributed renewable systems.

A further session, Policy and Market Reforms to Unlock Private Investment in Kenya’s Clean Energy Sector, will focus on strengthening regulatory clarity, enabling blended finance mechanisms and mobilising private capital to support large scale renewable energy projects and distributed energy systems across the country.

In addition to the conference discussions, the event will feature a series of high-impact round-table dialogues designed to address core operational and investment challenges across Kenya’s clean energy ecosystem. The Renewable Energy Asset Management Dialogue will focus on enhancing asset performance, reliability and lifecycle optimisation to maximise long-term project value. This will be followed by the Green Finance Forum Kenya 2026 Dialogue, exploring innovative financing structures, risk mitigation strategies and capital deployment models for solar and energy storage projects. The Solar Project Construction Dialogue will bring together industry stakeholders to examine execution efficiency, project timelines and scalable construction practices, while the EV Charging Ecosystem Dialogue will assess pathways to develop a robust and future-ready electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support Kenya’s growing e-mobility landscape.

Alongside the conference, the Kenya Clean Energy Leadership Awards 2026 and the Future Energy Leadership Awards will recognise organisations, teams and professionals driving innovation, market growth, leadership and sustainability across solar energy, wind energy, energy storage, smart energy and electric mobility sectors.
