Tata Power Solaroof, a leading rooftop solar solutions provider and a part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has introduced an innovative solar financing solution for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. Launched in partnership with Tata Capital, the new SunSmart Flexi EMI Scheme aims to make rooftop solar systems more affordable, flexible and accessible for businesses across India. In a first-of-its-kind approach, the SunSmart Flexi EMI Scheme links customer repayments to the estimated solar energy generation of their rooftop system.

This allows C&I consumers to “pay as they save,” since their monthly EMIs or lease rentals are aligned with projected solar power output. The model enables businesses to manage cash flows more efficiently while transitioning to clean and reliable energy. The scheme offers several advantages, including collateral-free financing, competitive interest rates, flexible repayment options and a completely digital application process. These features ensure a smooth customer experience and make the adoption of solar solutions easier for businesses of different sizes and energy needs.

With this initiative, Tata Power Solaroof continues to reinforce its commitment to accelerating clean energy adoption in India’s C&I sector. Rooftop solar enables businesses to reduce operational costs, improve energy independence, and contribute to the nation’s long-term sustainability goals, including India’s Net Zero target for 2070. The scheme is designed to serve a wide range of industries such as automobile, textiles, IT, steel, HVAC, cold storage, FMCG and quick commerce, among others.

In the ongoing financial year, Tata Power Solaroof has completed around 6,700 rooftop solar installations for C&I customers across diverse sectors, achieving a cumulative capacity of over 580 MWp. Overall, Tata Power Solaroof has executed more than 3.7 lakh installations across both residential and C&I segments, with a total installed capacity exceeding 4.5 GWp. This continued progress demonstrates the company’s strong role in advancing clean energy solutions and supporting India’s broader renewable energy transition.
