Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) organized “Samavesh: Carnival of Women Solar Customers – 2026” at MR Global School, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and community empowerment. The initiative focused on recognizing and promoting the role of women in accelerating rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
The event witnessed participation from over 350 women representing more than 30 villages across Tata Power-DDL’s rural service areas, highlighting growing grassroots engagement in clean energy initiatives.
The program was chaired by Rahul Kumar, General Manager at Tata Power-DDL, and attended by several dignitaries, including Anju Aman Dabas, Councillor of Pooth Khurd Village; Fiza, daughter of Cabinet Minister Ravinder Inderaj Singh; former councillor Rekha Sinha; MR Global School Principal Ruchika Rana; Chandrika, Head of Brahma Kumaris (North-West Delhi); celebrity choreographer Jyoti Kaur; and Dr. Deepaka Kataria, a specialist in community medicine. The event also saw participation from Vinod Sehrawat, President of Kisan Morcha Delhi, Krishi Ratan awardee Satywan Sehrawat, and MRGS Chairman Ravi Sehrawat, along with Tata Power-DDL officials.
Aligned with the celebrations of Navratri and International Women’s Day, the company honored over 125 women solar customers and achievers from various sectors for their contributions to sustainable development. Additionally, more than 250 women took an oath to promote solar awareness and adoption within their communities.
Further, 70 women and girls recognized at state and national levels were felicitated for excellence across domains such as sports, education, healthcare, yoga, social welfare, and energy conservation, underscoring the broader impact of women-led initiatives.
The event also featured solar awareness sessions, interactive competitions, and cultural performances aimed at promoting clean energy and women empowerment. Around 150 additional participants actively engaged in these activities, enhancing community involvement.
The event concluded with Tata Power-DDL expressing gratitude to participants, community leaders, and stakeholders, reiterating its commitment to driving sustainable energy adoption and empowering communities at the grassroots level.
