The centre was inaugurated by Saumya Agarwal and Himal Tewari, in the presence of Ashok Panda and Alok Prasad. The launch marks a continued push by Tata Power to strengthen skill development through collaborative partnerships.

The TPSDI–Prayagraj centre will provide hands-on, industry-aligned training in renewable energy technologies, including solar PV installation and maintenance, electrical safety, and energy efficiency, addressing the growing demand for a skilled workforce in India’s evolving energy sector.

In parallel, TPSDI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has rolled out specialised training programmes for tribal youth. These programmes were virtually inaugurated by Jual Oram and will be conducted across the Prayagraj centre as well as newly established facilities in Odisha and existing centres in Jharkhand.

The centre will also support implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, offering certification-based training designed to improve employability and facilitate placements with EPC companies and other industry stakeholders.

Since its inception, TPSDI has trained over 4.2 lakh individuals through more than 200 modular courses across green energy, power systems, transmission and distribution, safety, and soft skills, contributing over 1.6 million person-days of training.

With the launch of the Prayagraj centre, Tata Power aims to build a strong local talent pipeline to support regional energy infrastructure and future clean energy projects, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable livelihoods and India’s broader energy transition goals.
