The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the seventh revision of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, bringing new additions and updated performance benchmarks for key manufacturers in India. The revision was issued through an official memorandum dated April 30, 2026, as part of the governmentโ€™s continued efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing and ensure quality standards in the solar sector.

A key highlight of this update is the inclusion of Renewsys India Pvt. Ltd. as a new entrant. The companyโ€™s manufacturing facility, located in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana, has been approved with an annual capacity of 452 MW. Renewsys has been enlisted for its bifacial N-Type TOPCon solar cells under the model name RESERV 71P. These cells offer an average efficiency of 24.60 percent and a wattage of 8.23 W. The enlistment will remain valid from April 30, 2026, to April 29, 2030.

The revision also includes important updates for Waaree Energies Limited, particularly for its Gujarat-based manufacturing facility. The ministry has revised the efficiency and wattage ranges for its existing solar cell technologies. For mono-crystalline PERC (P-Type) cells, the updated efficiency range is 22.00 percent to 23.70 percent, with wattage between 7.36 W and 7.85 W. For mono-crystalline TOPCon (N-Type) cells, the revised efficiency range is higher at 24.00 percent to 25.80 percent, while wattage now ranges from 8.00 W to 8.68 W. These updated figures replace the earlier values published in the December 2025 revision.

The ALMM List-II was first introduced on July 31, 2025, and has since undergone multiple revisions to reflect changes in manufacturing capacity and technological advancements. MNRE clarified that the capacity mentioned in the latest revision represents the total approved capacity for each unit and should not be added to capacities from previous revisions.
