The Indian stock market witnessed a mixed trading session as broader indices closed in the red, while selective stocks in the green energy and mobility sectors showed resilience. The S&P BSE Sensex declined by 0.33% to close at 77,017.79, while the NIFTY 50 also slipped by 0.29% to settle at 24,050.45, reflecting cautious investor sentiment across key sectors.

Despite the overall weakness, renewable energy stocks stood out with strong individual performances. Websol Energy emerged as the top gainer, rising 4.99% to Rs 122.10. Adani Green Energy also recorded solid gains of over 3%, closing at Rs 1,330. Other notable performers included Insolation Energy, which rose 2.62%, and Inox Wind, which gained 1.35%, indicating continued investor interest in solar manufacturing and wind energy segments.

However, the performance was not uniform across the sector. NTPC Green Energy declined by nearly 1.5% to Rs 109.70, while Borosil Renewables also slipped around 1%. Large-cap stocks such as Reliance Industries and Tata Power remained largely flat, suggesting consolidation among established players amid market uncertainty.

In the broader analysis, market trends showed a clear divergence between focused renewable energy companies and diversified industrial conglomerates. Smaller, pure-play green energy firms attracted stronger speculative and growth-driven buying interest compared to larger diversified firms like Larsen & Toubro, which saw a decline of 1.16%.

The energy storage and electric mobility segment, represented by companies like Amara Raja and Exide, also showed mild gains, reflecting stable long-term confidence in the electric vehicle ecosystem. Prices across major exchanges remained closely aligned, indicating strong liquidity and efficient price discovery in the sector.

Overall, while benchmark indices remained under pressure, the renewable energy sector continued to offer selective opportunities for investors, highlighting its growing importance in Indiaโ€™s evolving equity market landscape.
