NTPC Limited has officially invited bids for the EPC package for the repowering of the Andaman Solar project under the miscellaneous works category. The tender has been issued through the Corporate Centre’s Unified Shared Service Centre (USSC) in Raipur and will follow an open competitive bidding process. According to the tender details, the selected contractor will be required to complete the project within 180 days from the award of the contract.
The bidding process will be conducted under a three-cover system. Bidders are required to submit separate documents for fee details, technical qualifications, and financial bids. NTPC has specified that there will be no fee for downloading the tender documents. However, interested companies must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10 lakh as part of the bidding requirements. The EMD is to be submitted online, and bidders are also permitted to provide a Bank Guarantee as an acceptable form of security.
The tender documents further mention that the project falls under the “Works” contract category and will be governed by NTPC’s standard compliance requirements. These include adherence to the company’s Fraud Prevention Policy and Banning Policy. The contract will also require a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) or performance security in line with NTPC regulations.
NTPC has laid down strict technical qualification requirements for participating bidders. Companies taking part in the tender process must certify full compliance with the Qualifying Requirements (QR) and provide a “No Deviation” certificate. The tender also highlights the importance of local content participation, requiring bidders to declare themselves as local suppliers meeting the prescribed minimum local content norms.
