The Government of India has approved Central Financial Assistance (CFA) worth ₹531 crore under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme for 553 solar energy providers in Rajasthan. These energy providers have installed solar power plants and are contributing to strengthening the country’s energy security. The approved financial assistance will soon be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the Ajmer and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigams.
According to the approved allocation, ₹379.41 crore has been sanctioned for 432 solar energy providers under Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam. These beneficiaries have collectively installed solar power plants with a capacity of 429 MW. In addition, ₹151.21 crore has been approved for 121 solar energy producers connected with Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam, who have established projects with a combined capacity of 169 MW.
Rajasthan’s power distribution companies have been actively supporting solar power producers in submitting claims for central financial assistance. Their efforts have helped ensure that eligible solar energy producers receive financial support without unnecessary delays. So far, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigams have submitted CFA claims worth ₹1,012 crore to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Out of this amount, the Government of India has already released ₹670 crore for 720 solar energy producers.
Under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, decentralized solar power plants of up to 5 MW capacity can be developed on barren or uncultivable land located within a five-kilometre radius of electricity substations. The scheme aims to promote solarization of agricultural feeders and reduce dependence on conventional power sources. To encourage participation, the Government of India provides subsidy support of up to 30 percent based on the project cost and capacity. The maximum financial assistance available under the scheme is ₹1.05 crore per MW.
Rajasthan has made significant progress under this component of the PM-KUSUM scheme. A total of 1,312 projects with a combined capacity of 3,371 MW have been established across the state. Of this, 2,647 MW has been installed under Jodhpur Discom, 373 MW under Ajmer Discom, and 352 MW under Jaipur Discom. With this achievement, Rajasthan currently ranks third in the country under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme.
