West Central Railway has invited open e-tenders for the installation of rooftop solar power plants across various railway facilities under the Kota Division. The tenders have been issued by the Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (General), Kota Division, on behalf of the President of India. The projects are aimed at expanding the use of renewable energy across railway stations, service buildings, residential quarters, and level crossing (LC) gates through grid-connected rooftop solar systems.
The scope of work includes the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-tied Monocrystalline rooftop solar PV power plants. In addition to setting up the systems, the selected contractors will also be responsible for providing a comprehensive three-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC), including regular cleaning of solar panels to ensure efficient performance throughout the maintenance period.
The railway has divided the initiative into three separate tenders, each with a completion period of six months. The first tender, EL-50-323R-2026-27, covers the KOTA-NAD and RMA-BPL section and involves the installation of a 780 KWp rooftop solar system. The estimated value of this contract is Rs. 3.73 crore, while the required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is Rs. 7.46 lakh.
The second tender, EL-50-321R-2026-27, focuses on the KOTA-MTJ and TKD section with a planned capacity of 790 KWp. This project has an estimated value of Rs. 3.82 crore and requires an EMD of Rs. 7.63 lakh.
The third tender, EL-50-322R-2026-27, covers the KOTA-RTA and KOTA-COR section and includes the installation of a 770 KWp solar power plant. The advertised value of this work is approximately Rs. 3.68 crore, with an EMD requirement of Rs. 7.37 lakh.
All three tenders follow the same schedule. The tender documents were uploaded on June 25, 2026. Interested bidders can begin submitting their bids from July 6, 2026, while the final date and time for submission is July 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
The successful bidder for each contract will be required to submit a Performance Guarantee equal to 5% of the original contract value within 21 days of receiving the Letter of Acceptance (LOA). If required, the submission period can be extended up to 60 days, although a penal interest of 12% per annum will apply from the 22nd day onwards. An additional 5% Performance Guarantee will also be applicable if the accepted bid is more than 5% below the estimated cost.
Bidders must hold a valid electrical contractor licence for the relevant voltage category to participate in these works. All bids must be submitted online through the IREPS portal, as offline financial bids will not be accepted. Recognized startups have been exempted from paying the EMD, while registered Labour Cooperative Societies are eligible for a 50% concession on the bid security. The financial bids submitted by participants will remain valid for 60 days from the tender closing date. Through these projects, West Central Railway continues to strengthen its commitment to clean energy adoption and sustainable infrastructure development across its network.
