The developments reinforce rPlus Energies’ long-term commitment to the state’s clean energy transition. With these latest projects, alongside facilities already operational, under construction, or under contract, the company has now developed more than 1 GW of solar and energy storage capacity across Idaho.

According to the company, the two projects represent a combined investment of more than US$750 million and are expected to generate hundreds of construction jobs, followed by permanent on-site employment once operational. In addition, the projects are anticipated to contribute long-term tax revenues through Idaho’s 3.5% solar energy tax on gross earnings, benefiting state and local governments while supporting regional businesses and communities.

As part of its community engagement efforts, partners involved in the Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project have contributed US$375,000 in workforce development scholarships for students at Boise State University and the College of Western Idaho, aimed at strengthening the state’s future clean energy workforce.

Lisa Grow, President and CEO of Idaho Power, said the projects will play a key role in supporting the state’s growing electricity demand with a diversified energy mix. She noted that Pleasant Valley Solar 2 and Blacks Creek Energy Center represent important additions to Idaho’s energy infrastructure and highlighted the company’s continued partnership with rPlus Energies in delivering reliable and affordable power to customers.
