Successfully passes VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 compliance tests at both 690V and 800V voltage levels
Hopewind has announced that its flagship ESHV Series 250kW string Power Conversion System (PCS) has successfully completed grid compliance testing in accordance with Germany’s VDE-AR-N 4110 (medium-voltage) and VDE-AR-N 4120 (high-voltage) standards at both 690V and 800V voltage levels. This milestone validates the product’s readiness for one of the world’s most demanding grid markets and reinforces Hopewind’s engineering leadership in energy storage power conversion.

The VDE‑AR‑N series represents the most stringent standards for grid connection in Europe, mandating rigorous evaluations of fault ride‑through capability, dynamic reactive power support, frequency response, protection logic, and other critical performance parameters. Passing these tests at multiple voltage levels demonstrates that the ESHV Series delivers the reliability and stability required for Germany’s increasingly renewable‑dominated energy network.
Engineered for modern energy storage applications, the ESHV Series combines advanced power electronics with extreme environmental resilience. Its grid‑forming capability, enabled by VSG (virtual synchronous generator) mode, allows autonomous voltage and frequency regulation during network disturbances, a critical feature as conventional synchronous generation proportion declines. The system is built to withstand the harshest operating environments, with IP66 ingress protection, optional C4/C5 corrosion resistance, and stable performance across temperatures from -40°C to +60°C. The high‑power‑density architecture delivers 250 kW (up to 275 kW) rated output in a compact footprint, while modular parallel expansion supports flexible capacity configuration for on‑grid, off‑grid, and microgrid applications.
Hopewind 250kW String PCS
Beyond Germany, the ESHV Series carries a comprehensive portfolio of European certifications, including EN 50549 with national deviations for France, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Denmark, Latvia, and Estonia, as well as NTS V2.1 for Spain, CEI 0‑16 for Italy, and G99 for the United Kingdom. This extensive coverage enables seamless deployment across key European markets without requalification delays. Globally, the series has achieved batch deployment in India, South America, Africa, and the Asia‑Pacific region, backed by certifications such as CEA and verified compliance with IEEE 519 harmonic limits, underscoring its proven reliability and adaptability in diverse grid environments.
With more than 15 GW of BESS solutions installed globally, Hopewind continues to deliver reliable, code-compliant power conversion across grid-side, generation-side, user-side, and microgrid applications, solidifying its reputation for adaptability and proven real-world performance.
As energy storage markets accelerate worldwide, Hopewind delivers a field‑tested, highly adaptable PCS solution ready for immediate project deployment. The successful German certification further solidifies the company’s commitment to powering a resilient and sustainable energy future through rigorous engineering and uncompromising quality.
