Masdar has announced a leadership transition at its Americas business, with Khaleefa AlMheiri set to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Masdar Americas from October 19.
AlMheiri, who currently serves as Masdar’s Acting Chief Operating Officer, brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across the energy, industrial, government, and portfolio management sectors. In his new role, he will lead Masdar’s growth and expansion across the US energy market.
The company also announced that Philip Haddad will step down from his role after several years of service, during which he contributed significantly to Masdar’s growth in the United States. Haddad will take on a new role as XRG’s Americas lead while continuing to support Masdar through his position on the board of Terra-Gen.
The United States remains a strategic growth market for Masdar, which has outlined a target to build its American portfolio to 25 GW over the next decade.
The leadership transition comes as Masdar continues to expand its presence in the US, with a focus on developing reliable and affordable energy projects and creating long-term value for partners across the country.
