Ceigall India Gets LoI for INR 5,300 Crore Common Transmission System to Evacuate 14 GW Power from Gujarat

Ceigall India Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) for the development of a common transmission system for the evacuation of power from major renewable energy zones in Gujarat.

According to the company’s regulatory filing dated September 3, 2026, the LoI was received from RECPDCL via email on the same day.

The project, titled “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-B,” has been awarded under a tariff-based contract arrangement.

765/400 kV Substation and 300 km Transmission Line

The scope of the project includes a common transmission system comprising a 765/400 kV AIS substation and approximately 300 km of transmission line. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, RECPDCL.

The work is scheduled to have an execution period of 36 months, followed by an operational period of 35 years.

₹608.67 Crore Annual Transmission Charges

The project carries annual transmission charges of approximately ₹608.67 crore for 35 years. The total project cost is estimated at approximately ₹5,300 crore, inclusive of GST.

The transmission infrastructure is expected to support the evacuation of power from the identified renewable energy development zones at Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar.

Ceigall India stated that neither the promoter/promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. The company also confirmed that the order does not fall under related-party transactions.

The LoI marks an expansion of Ceigall India’s participation in large-scale transmission infrastructure and supports the development of transmission capacity required for evacuating power from major generation zones.
