Roofsol Energy Pvt Ltd has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Mukand Sumi Special Steel Ltd for the development of a 3.7 MWp OPEX-based solar power project in Koppal, Karnataka.
The project will support Mukand Sumi Special Steel’s efforts to integrate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations while enabling the company to access solar power through an operating expenditure (OPEX) model.
Mukand Sumi Special Steel is a manufacturer of special and alloy steel products serving industrial applications across India and international markets. The partnership with Roofsol Energy is aimed at supporting sustainable and cost-efficient energy solutions for the company’s manufacturing operations.
For Roofsol Energy, the agreement further strengthens its presence in the commercial and industrial (C&I) solar segment, where the company provides renewable energy solutions through OPEX-based projects.
The company said the Koppal project marks its fifth solar project with a reputed steel manufacturer in India during 2026, highlighting its continued focus on supporting energy-intensive industries in their transition towards cleaner energy sources.
The latest PPA adds to Roofsol Energy’s growing portfolio of renewable energy projects for manufacturing customers and underscores the increasing adoption of solar power and OPEX models within India’s industrial sector.
