Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited (CleanMax) and Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Limited have partnered to develop a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project in Bhikamkhore, Rajasthan, aimed at supplying clean electricity to Nuvoco’s cement manufacturing operations.
The hybrid project will comprise 20 MW of wind capacity and 26.4 MWp of solar capacity, supported by a 2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project is being developed under a group captive structure to facilitate long-term renewable energy procurement.
Electricity generated from the facility will be supplied to Nuvoco through the State Transmission Utility (STU) Open Access network. The development will also expand CleanMax’s presence in Rajasthan, where the company has an operational renewable energy portfolio of more than 525 MW across solar, wind and hybrid assets serving commercial and industrial customers.
Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 100 million units (MU) of renewable electricity annually. According to the company, it is expected to avoid around 62,023 tonnes of Scope 2 CO₂ emissions and 63,463 tonnes of Scope 1 CO₂ emissions annually.
The project forms part of Nuvoco’s broader efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of its manufacturing operations through renewable energy, Waste Heat Recovery Systems (WHRS), energy-efficiency measures and increased use of alternative fuels. It also supports the company’s DIRE — Digitalisation, Innovation and Renewables — agenda.
Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director of CleanMax, said the partnership reflects the increasing integration of clean energy into the long-term strategies of manufacturing companies. He added that the hybrid project is designed to provide long-term cost certainty while supporting Nuvoco’s transition towards cleaner power.
Jayakumar Krishnaswamy, Managing Director of Nuvoco Vistas Corporation Limited, said the collaboration would increase the share of renewable energy across the company’s Rajasthan operations, strengthen its energy mix, improve long-term cost efficiency and reduce dependence on conventional power sources.
The partnership highlights the growing adoption of wind-solar hybrid and energy storage solutions by energy-intensive industries, as companies seek to manage energy costs and reduce emissions through long-term renewable power procurement.
