SJVN Limited has initiated the competitive bidding process for setting up a 265 MW/530 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Haryana. The project is being developed under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework and is supported through Viability Gap Funding (VGF) schemes.
The project is aimed at strengthening grid reliability and supporting the integration of renewable energy into Haryana’s electricity system. The tender was issued under Request for Selection document number SJVN/CC-Delhi/REIA/2026/BESS-2.
In the e-reverse auction held on September 24, 2026, NLC India Renewables Limited emerged as the lowest bidder (Rank-1). The company quoted ₹2,35,000 for the entire 265 MW capacity. The bid was 12.96% lower than the starting and reserve price of ₹2,70,000.
Rama Reflection India Private Limited secured the second position with a bid of ₹2,35,811, representing a 12.66% reduction from the benchmark price. Solarworld Energy Solutions Limited submitted a bid of ₹2,38,000, which was 11.85% below the starting price.
Pace Digitek Limited quoted ₹2,45,999, translating into an 8.89% reduction. Sun Drops Energia Limited offered ₹2,50,000, while Oriana Power Limited submitted a bid of ₹2,58,000. Their bids were 7.41% and 4.44% below the starting price, respectively.
All participating bidders submitted their offers for the complete 265 MW capacity. The 530 MWh storage capacity will provide two hours of energy storage based on the project’s 265 MW power capacity.
The Haryana BESS project is part of the broader expansion of large-scale energy storage infrastructure required to manage increasing renewable power generation. Standalone BESS projects can provide flexibility to the grid by storing electricity and supplying it when required, helping address variations in renewable generation and electricity demand.
The competitive bidding outcome also highlights growing participation from public-sector and private energy companies in India’s utility-scale battery storage market.
