Resonia Limited, a power transmission infrastructure company, has announced the commissioning of two major transmission projects in Rajasthan through its Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), Fatehgarh III Beawar Transmission Limited (F3BTL) and Beawar Transmission Limited (BTL). Together, the projects provide 9 GW of power evacuation capacity, strengthening the transmission infrastructure required to integrate renewable energy generated in Rajasthan into India’s national electricity grid.
The projects form part of the expanding transmission network supporting Rajasthan’s growing renewable energy generation capacity. The infrastructure is designed to facilitate efficient electricity transfer from renewable energy generation hubs while improving grid reliability, network flexibility and power evacuation capabilities across the region.
Beawar Transmission Limited (BTL), commissioned on September 23, 2025, provides 4.5 GW of power evacuation capacity. The project includes a 765 kV double-circuit Fatehgarh-Beawar transmission line spanning approximately 838 circuit kilometres (cKM), along with a 3,000 MVA, 765/400 kV Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) substation at Beawar.
The BTL project also incorporates two Line-In-Line-Out (LILO) connections to enhance transmission network flexibility and a ±600 MVAR Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) at Fatehgarh III to support real-time voltage regulation and grid stability. The transmission corridor passes through Jaisalmer, Barmer, Balotra, Jodhpur Gramin, Pali and Beawar, connecting renewable energy generation areas with the broader transmission network.
The second project, Fatehgarh III Beawar Transmission Limited (F3BTL), was commissioned in March 2026 and adds another 4.5 GW of power evacuation capacity. It comprises a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Fatehgarh-3 to Beawar, with a transmission corridor extending approximately 635 circuit kilometres.
The F3BTL infrastructure also includes two 765 kV line bays at Fatehgarh. Its transmission corridor extends across Jaisalmer, Barmer, Balotra, Jodhpur Gramin, Pali, Beawar and Ajmer, providing additional transmission capacity to support the movement of renewable electricity from western Rajasthan to the national grid.
Both projects were developed across Rajasthan’s challenging desert terrain, requiring specialised construction techniques and advanced project execution methods. Resonia deployed technology-led construction practices, including drone-based conductor stringing using Infravision technology, crane-assisted transmission tower erection and route optimisation to improve construction efficiency and minimise environmental disruption.
The use of mechanised construction methods also supported project execution across difficult geographical conditions, helping reduce operational risks associated with large-scale transmission infrastructure development.
Commenting on the commissioning, Prashant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Resonia, highlighted Rajasthan’s growing importance as a renewable energy generation hub and the critical role of transmission infrastructure in enabling efficient electricity evacuation. He stated that the two projects have collectively added 9 GW of evacuation capacity across the Fatehgarh-Beawar corridor, reflecting the company’s focus on technology-driven execution and efficient project delivery.
The commissioning of these projects strengthens the transmission network connecting Rajasthan’s renewable energy generation facilities with major electricity demand centres through the national grid. The additional evacuation capacity is expected to support the integration of increasing volumes of renewable electricity while improving transmission reliability and system flexibility.
The development also highlights the importance of expanding high-voltage transmission infrastructure alongside renewable energy generation capacity to address grid integration challenges and support India’s clean energy transition.
With the commissioning of the BTL and F3BTL projects, Resonia continues to expand its role in developing power transmission infrastructure designed to facilitate renewable energy integration, strengthen grid connectivity and support the long-term growth of India’s electricity sector.
