NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited online bids through domestic competitive bidding for the development of a 900 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project near the Kurnool Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh. The tender covers land arrangement, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), along with the installation, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the solar power plant and its associated power evacuation infrastructure.
The project is intended to expand solar power generation capacity in Andhra Pradesh and strengthen the infrastructure required to evacuate renewable electricity through the interstate transmission network. The selected contractor will be responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable land for the project, including land required for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The land must be transferred completely to NTPC REL and should be free from encumbrances to ensure that the project can proceed without land-related legal or ownership complications.
The scope of work includes the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plant. The contractor will also be responsible for developing the associated power evacuation system required to connect the project to the transmission network. In addition, the successful bidder must provide operation and maintenance services for a period of three years after commissioning.
The transmission infrastructure component includes the construction of a new 400 kV terminal line bay and a dedicated 400 kV transmission line extending up to the NTPC REL Kurnool Solar Project pooling substation (PSS) switchyard. The project scope also includes telemetry systems and dynamic reactive power compensation equipment. These facilities are intended to support grid connectivity, operational monitoring, and the reliable integration of the solar power project into the transmission network.
According to the tender schedule, the invitation for bids was issued on October 16, 2026. Bidding documents are available for download from October 16 to October 26, 2026, until 3:00 PM Indian Standard Time. The pre-bid conference and the last date for submitting queries are scheduled for October 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
The deadline for submission of bids is November 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM, while the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM. The dates for opening the price bids and conducting the reverse auction will be communicated later.
NTPC REL has specified an earnest money deposit (EMD) or bid security of ₹50 crore. Bids without acceptable bid security will be treated as non-responsive and rejected. The cost of the bidding documents is nil. Interested bidders must register on the ETS portal, submit a signed non-disclosure agreement, and access the tender documents using Tender Search Code NTPCREL-2026-TN000033.
The tender also establishes financial eligibility requirements for participating companies. Bidders must demonstrate a minimum average annual turnover of ₹590 crore over the preceding three financial years. Their net worth must be at least equal to 100% of their paid-up share capital. These requirements are intended to assess the financial capacity of bidders to execute the project.
Through this tender, NTPC REL is seeking a qualified contractor capable of delivering the solar generation facility, securing the required land, and developing the supporting transmission infrastructure under an integrated project package.
