Torrent Power Limited has reported strong financial performance for the second quarter and first half of FY 2026-27, registering significant growth in revenue, EBITDA and total comprehensive income. The company’s performance was supported by improved operational efficiency across its power distribution business, expansion of its renewable energy portfolio, higher generation, and contributions from strategic acquisitions.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, Torrent Power recorded revenue from operations of ₹9,801 crore, representing a 24% increase compared to ₹7,876 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY 2025-26. For the first half of FY27, revenue from operations stood at ₹17,926 crore, registering 14% growth against ₹15,782 crore reported during the same period last year.
The company also recorded strong growth in operational profitability. EBITDA for Q2 FY27 increased by 26% to ₹1,988 crore, compared to ₹1,584 crore in Q2 FY26. On an adjusted basis, EBITDA registered a 29% increase during the quarter. This performance included a ₹54 crore principal recovery associated with the Nabha acquisition under applicable lease accounting provisions. For the first half of FY27, cumulative EBITDA reached ₹3,606 crore, marking a 14% year-on-year increase.
Torrent Power’s Total Comprehensive Income (TCI) for Q2 FY27 increased by 14% to ₹835 crore from ₹730 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company reported an increase of ₹105 crore in quarterly income, supported by improved operational performance across its distribution networks, higher plant load factors and additional renewable energy capacity. Contributions from the Nabha acquisition also supported earnings, partially offsetting the impact of higher finance costs resulting from increased borrowings. For H1 FY27, the company’s total comprehensive income stood at ₹1,474 crore.
Torrent Power currently has an installed generation capacity of approximately 6.8 GWp across conventional and renewable energy sources. Its portfolio includes 2.7 GW of gas-based power capacity, 2.3 GWp of renewable energy capacity and 1.8 GW of coal-based generation capacity.
The company is also pursuing an extensive expansion strategy to strengthen its generation portfolio and support India’s energy transition. Its ongoing development pipeline includes approximately 4.3 GWp of renewable energy capacity, 3 GW of pumped storage projects and 1.6 GW of additional coal-based capacity. With these planned additions, Torrent Power’s total future generation portfolio is expected to reach nearly 12.7 GWp, alongside 3 GW of pumped storage capacity.
In its electricity distribution business, the company supplies approximately 31 billion units of electricity annually to more than 4.29 million customers across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Its distribution operations in Gujarat continue to maintain low distribution losses and high reliability standards.
The company’s latest financial performance reflects its continued focus on operational efficiency, generation capacity expansion and renewable energy development. Its growing project pipeline and established distribution network position it to expand its presence across India’s evolving power sector.
