Volga-Dnepr Airlines, the world’s leader in oversized and super-heavy air cargo transportation, has once again demonstrated agility and flexibility while organizing a charter flight with high voltage equipment onboard to empower construction of a 450MW solar power plant in Vietnam.
An-124-100 took off from Mumbai (India) to Cam Ranh (Vietnam) with 30-tonne shipment after the charter request was processed in cooperation with Bee Logistics Corporation – a leading regional logistics service provider on behalf of Advanced Information Technologies Corporation (AIT).
With more than three decades of experience and expertise, Volga-Dnepr’s team is used to tackling various charter issues to guarantee seamless delivery of essential components and spare parts for industrial sites. This time, the company had to re-configure the flight route three times due to reconstruction of the runway in Saigon and severe lockdown restrictions in Da Nang. With not a single An-124-100 flight ever been operated to/from Cam Rahn, the carrier’s regional specialists managed to process the whole flight approval procedures smoothly, including immigration issues, to make this flight happen.
“Covid-19 affects all the industries, with wind and solar power plant projects being among them. While some of them might be delayed or even cancelled across the Asia-Pacific region due to restrictions, the Thun Nam solar power plant is completed on time thanks to well-tuned work of all the stakeholders involved and contribution of our team. Not only the new plant will add much-needed electricity to the whole country’s system, but will also boost the development of renewable energy and lead the way towards more eco-friendly attitude,” commented Ekaterina Andreeva, Commercial Director for Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
Volga-Dnepr Group has been advancing the world’s logistics across the globe, using technical capabilities of its unique fleet of Il-76TD-90VD and An-124-100 which has recently been upgraded to accommodate a payload of 150 tonnes. With this extended feature, An-124-150 will be able to meet logistics challenges to various airports of the world and spread the flight geography for Volga-Dnepr Group.
