The PV system will supply power to DAT under a long-term power purchase agreement (“PPA”) where Cleantech Solar has financed, designed, constructed and will own and operate the PV system across the period of the agreement. Over 2,000 solar panels are now installed on the rooftop of DAT’s manufacturing facility, and it is estimated that the rooftop solar power plant will generate over 1,300 MWh of electricity per year, equivalent to avoiding about 750 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

Thailand has committed to increasing the share of renewable energy in its overall power generation supply. The latest target from the government is to achieve over 30% of its total energy sources from alternative energy in 2037. Recent efficiency improvements and lower costs of solar generation have encouraged a large number of Commercial and Industrial customers to leverage solar solutions in order to achieve their corporate carbon reduction goals and support government targets.

Mr. Raju Shukla, Cleantech Solar’s Founder and Executive Chairman said:

“Cleantech Solar is continuing our rapid growth in Southeast Asia and India C&I sector, providing reliable, efficient and sustainable solar solutions to large corporates. We are very pleased to have delivered yet another successful project for an international customer like Daiwa Kasei and at the same time, actively contribute to the clean energy transition in Thailand.”
