AREC is the commission representing all stakeholders involved in Renewable Energy in the Arab World. It operates under the council of the Arab Economic Unit of the League of Arab States, as a non-profit organization founded in 2011 in Amman (Jordan) and recognized by the Royal Decree.

The location of Jordan acts as an “economic catalyst” and it has a bright future in the kingdom for the energy transition. Arab countries have implemented practical steps to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and it is expected that the investment in green hydrogen and renewable energy will reach $1 trillion by 2040.

Investment in the energy sector also provides job opportunities for the youth. Jordan has plenty of trained technical competencies and qualified companies to support the green economy in the country and the Arab region.
