Oman will establish Hydrogen Development Oman (HDO) which will be owned by the state for managing green hydrogen projects which are developed and planned in the country.
HDO will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Development Oman (EDO) which is owned by the state. EDO was set up in December 2020 for the energy transition to renewable energy.
Oman is working to make a regulatory and legislative framework to support investments in the green hydrogen field. As of now, OQ, state-owned is launching various hydrogen-related projects.
Oman has signed various agreements with companies and investors for developing green hydrogen projects.
