SECI Calls Pre-bid Meet of Module Manufacturers for Setting Up Manufacturing Capacities in India

With reference to the Request for Selection (RfS) issued for Selection of Solar PV Module Manufacturers (SMM) for Setting up Manufacturing Capacities for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules in India under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (Tranche-II), the pre-bid meeting has been scheduled on 06.12.2022, at 11:30 AM.

The meeting will be held under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister (Power, New & Renewable Energy), R K Singh and will be attended by other officials from MNRE.

Earlier this month, SECI had issed RfS for Selection of Solar PV Module Manufacturers for Setting up Manufacturing Capacities for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules in India under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (Tranche-II).

Under this RfS, the SMM shall be required to set up manufacturing capacities in Giga Watt (GW) scale for high efficiency Solar PV modules, with the primary objective to promote manufacturing of high efficiency solar PV modules in India and thus reduce dependence in the area of Renewable Energy, as per the provisions of the RfS.

With the objective to promote setting up of integrated plants for better quality control and competitiveness, the Bidder shall commit minimum integration across solar cells and modules. Based upon the extent of integration proposed, the Bidder can opt for bidding for any one of the following three baskets:

Polysilicon + ingots-wafers + solar cells + modules
Ingots-wafers + solar cells + modules
solar cells + modules

The PLI will remain available for five year after the date of commissioning — actual or scheduled — of the manufacturing facilities by the chosen bidders.

Last date of bid submission is 9th January, 2023 (6:00 PM IST) and the bids will be opened on 12th January.
