Spectrum, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has energized the new solar rooftop facility of North Bound Infinity Real Estate Development, Inc. in Bulacan province.

Officials from the two companies inaugurated the 98.28 kilowatt-peak (kWp) project at North Bound’s storage warehousing facility in Guiguinto.

The project is expected to generate approximately 125,600 kWh of clean energy annually, allowing the company to save approximately PhP840,000 in energy costs annually.

The company will likewise reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 89 metric tons, which translates to more than 4,100 trees planted and more than 356,300 kilometers reduced in vehicle travel per year.

North Bound provides an adequate and accessible storage facility and assists deliveries of goods and services between Metro Manila and nearby provinces in the North Luzon region.

Through its solar rooftop project, North Bound hopes to achieve operational efficiency while strengthening its environmental stewardship.

“We are now in an era where a customer’s engagement with Meralco is no longer just about the provision of basic electric service. As we move towards a greener future, the One Meralco Group goes beyond its mandate of delivering stable and reliable electric service to its customers,” Spectrum President and CEO Engr. Ferdinand O. Geluz said.
