Coal India Invites Bids for O&M of Floating Solar Projects Above 100 MW

State-owned Coal India Ltd. has released a request for proposals (RFP) for the operations and maintenance (O&M) work needed for Category-I floating solar PV power facilities that are up to 100 MW and Category-II projects that are beyond 100 MW.

Bidders must submit the bids for this O&M tender by January 16, 2023, which will be opened on that day only.

The scope of work must include, but not be limited to, the design, testing, installation, supply, engineering, packing and forwarding, unloading, storage, transportation, and commissioning of grid-connected floating Solar PV projects (to be awarded to multiple/single bidders/applicants). 

The work scope also includes thorough operation and maintenance of the project for 5 years following the date of successful commissioning.

To be eligible for this tender, according to the most recent audited accounts, the bidder should have a positive net worth.

The applicant must have successfully designed, erected/supervised erection, provided, and commissioned or supervised the commissioning of solar PV-based grid-connected power plants with a cumulative installed capacity of 60 MW or higher in the last 5 fiscal years, including the fiscal year in which the application has been submitted.

Further, at least one of these plants must have been of 10 MW or higher capacity installed at a single site, which must have been successfully operating for at least 6 months prior to the deadline for bids submission for this tender.

Additionally, the bidders need to have an average yearly financial turnover of Rs. 2 billion for category-I (i.e., for up to 100 MW) and Rs. 3 billion for Category-II in the last 3 financial years ending on March 31 of the preceding financial year.
