Adani gained a customer base in Mumbai of over three million after acquiring Anil Ambani’s power business from Reliance Infra.
Adani now obtained an order to supply and maintain more than a million smart meters of electricity for Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST). This covers some of Mumbai’s power supply.
The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking is a civic transport and electricity provider public body based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Electric Supply Division of Best Undertaking, carries out the distribution of electricity to the consumers in the city area of Mumbai.
Adani Transmission has created a subsidiary called BEST Smart Metering to target the smart meter market in order to improve its billing process.
The initial paid-up share capital for the subsidiary was 100,000 rupees each.
This project involves the installation of smart meters that do not require any manual intervention.
