HRH Minister of Energy and British Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy Discuss Strengthening Energy Cooperation

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, held a meeting in Riyadh with the Rt Hon Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom.

The two ministers noted the relations between the two countries and discussed areas of bilateral cooperation in different energy fields as well as future opportunities in the energy sector through the MoU between the Saudi and UK governments.

The two sides discussed areas of cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen and the development and localization of technologies related to carbon capture, utilization, and storage. They also discussed exchanging related expertise, conducting joint research, and developing related regulations and policies.

Furthermore, both ministers discussed areas of cooperation in renewable energy, petrochemicals, power plants, and the localization of energy components, and expressed their aspiration for Saudi and British companies to participate in the implementation of many related projects.
