Voltalia, a pioneer in the renewable energy sector, has been selected by ESB and Bord na Móna as the EPC contractor for their solar farm in Ireland.
ESB, the semi-state-owned utility, and Bord na Móna, the semi-state-owned climate solutions company, Ireland’s top energy providers, have picked Voltalia to develop their latest solar farm located at Timahoe North in Co Kildare.
This project marks the inaugural large-scale solar venture of their joint venture, with a vision to establish up to 500-megawatt solar farms utilizing Bord na Móna lands.
Voltalia has been appointed as the EPC contractor for the Timahoe North solar farm. The project is expected to reach full operational status by the end of 2024, with an impressive installed capacity of 108 megawatts.
This output will effectively power approximately 61,500 residents, making a significant contribution to Ireland’s renewable energy objectives for 2030 and delivering sustainable energy to communities and businesses nationwide.
Sébastien Clerc, CEO of Voltalia, said, “Since the beginning of the year, the expertise of our teams has enabled us to grow in Ireland as service provider. Today, we are delighted to build this new project and to support our local partners, Bord na Móna and ESB.”
