POWERGRID Bikaner Transmission System Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (POWERGRID), has achieved a significant milestone with the successful commissioning of its latest project. The transmission system strengthening scheme aimed at evacuating power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan, totaling 8.1 GW, has been completed under Phase-II Part-F.
Secured through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, the project was undertaken on a build, own, operate, and maintain (BOOM) basis. This marks a major stride towards the nation’s commitment to bolster renewable energy infrastructure.
The newly commissioned project will play a crucial role in facilitating the seamless transmission of power generated from the solar energy zones in Rajasthan. This achievement aligns with the country’s vision to harness solar potential and promote cleaner energy sources, contributing to India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
As per Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, POWERGRID officially announced the successful completion of the project. The transmission system strengthening scheme is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of power evacuation from the solar energy zones, making renewable energy more accessible to consumers.
The development of this transmission system is a step forward in strengthening the national power grid infrastructure and meeting the escalating electricity demands of the region. By harnessing the abundant solar energy resources in Rajasthan, the project will aid in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combatting climate change.
Mr. [Name], a spokesperson for POWERGRID, expressed immense pride in the team’s efforts and dedication that made the project’s timely commissioning possible. He emphasized that this accomplishment is a testament to POWERGRID’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy development in the country.
The successful commissioning of this project comes at a crucial juncture when the world is striving to accelerate the transition towards renewable energy sources, and it stands as a testament to India’s determination to lead the way in combating climate change through green energy initiatives.
As the nation continues its journey towards a greener and more sustainable future, achievements like this underline the significance of collaborative efforts between public and private enterprises to build a robust and eco-friendly energy infrastructure for the country.
