Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a prominent player in India’s renewable energy sector and a subsidiary of Tata Power, has taken a significant step towards sustainable energy. In collaboration with the ANAND Group, a global leader in the automotive systems and parts industry, TPREL has entered into a Group Captive Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) for a 4.4 MW AC solar facility.
This initiative is anticipated to generate an impressive 10 million units of clean energy from renewable sources. Importantly, it is projected to make a substantial impact by reducing approximately 5500 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. This strategic move aligns closely with TPREL’s commitment to forging a greener and cleaner future for its Commercial and Industrial (C & I) clients. By partnering with environmentally-conscious entities like the ANAND Group, Tata Power aims to lead by example, encouraging other organizations to adopt eco-friendly energy solutions and contribute to a more sustainable world.
Speaking on the association, Mr. Ashish Khanna, CEO, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, expressed, “We are pleased to support the ANAND Group as it embarks on its clean energy transformative journey. This group captive project highlights our commitment to support the automotive industry in becoming more sustainable and environmentally focussed.”
Commenting on the partnership Mr. Rajeev Gera, President – Business Development & Corporate Materials, ANAND Group, said, “In the spirit of sustainable collaboration, the project marks the union of visionaries and targeted goals to develop green energy. As Tata Power Renewable and ANAND Group join hands in this group captive project, we are together setting the path—and new benchmarks—for a greener future together.”
Tata Power and the ANAND Group have previously joined forces for a noteworthy 10.1-MW Solar PV park project in Maharashtra, India. This recent Group Captive Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) underscores the collaborative endeavors of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and ANAND in propelling the adoption of renewable energy.
This partnership reaps tangible environmental advantages while also showcasing Tata Power’s proficiency in pioneering energy solutions and ANAND’s commitment to sustainable business practices.
This approach facilitates cost-efficient access to renewable energy for multiple stakeholders, aligning seamlessly with the government’s sustainability objectives. With this new addition, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited’s total renewables capacity climbs to an impressive 7,787 MW. This encompasses 3,655 MW projects in various stages of implementation, with an operational capacity of 4,132 MW, including 3,139 MW of solar and 993 MW of wind energy.
