The upcoming World Governments Summit (WGS), slated for February 12th to 14th in Dubai, promises to be a momentous occasion with an extensive agenda themed “Shaping Future Governments.”
This 11th edition of the WGS aims to chart a course towards a better future for humanity. With six main themes and 15 global forums, it will delve into pivotal global trends and transformations across more than 110 key dialogue and interactive sessions. Over 200 global figures, including presidents, prime ministers, experts, thinkers, and innovators, are expected to participate.
The summit will host over 23 ministerial meetings and roundtables, engaging over 300 ministers, and will see the participation of over 85 international, regional, and intergovernmental organizations, alongside 120 government delegations.
Renowned attendees include business leaders such as Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI; Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus; Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA; Eric Schmidt, Co-founder of Schmidt Futures and former CEO and chairman of Google; Dr. Dario Gil, Senior Vice President and Director of Research at IBM; and Dr. Yann LeCun, Vice President and Chief AI Scientist at META.
Mohamed Yousef AlSharhan, Managing Director of the World Government Summit Organisation, emphasized the significance of this edition, highlighting the importance of hosting global leaders from the private sector to exchange solutions across various sectors including artificial intelligence, economic and financial management, energy, climate change, education, and health.
The summit will feature 15 global forums focused on devising future strategies and plans across vital sectors for humanity. These forums, held in partnership with international organizations, global technological institutions, and leading companies, aim to innovate new solutions to address societal challenges.
Among these forums are the Global Health Forum, Government Services Forum, Arab Government Administration Forum, Knowledge Exchange Forum, Future of Transportation Forum, Public Finance Forum for Arab Countries, Future of Education Forum, Space Future Forum, and Advanced Industry and Technology Forum.
Additionally, the summit will encompass diverse dialogues through forums such as the Artificial Intelligence Forum, the Future of Work Forum, the Emerging Economies Forum, the Governance of Geotechnology Forum, the Sustainable Development Goals Forum, as well as the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders and the ‘Time 100’ event.
High-level ministerial meetings will also be held, covering topics such as sustainable development, the evolution of future governments, Arab finance, labour ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the future of hydrogen energy.
