This agreement, signed in Jammu, outlines the supply of 300 MW of solar power from the expansive 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar project, currently under construction. The project, which is part of the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme managed by IREDA, involves an investment of ₹5,491 Crores and adheres to the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) criteria.

Expected to be commissioned by July 2024, the solar power generated is designated for government consumption, either directly or through distribution companies (Discoms).

This collaboration marks a strategic move towards bolstering non-fossil fuel energy production, aligning with the Government of India’s ambitious goal to derive 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.

The Bikaner Solar project, once operational, will significantly contribute to this vision, supporting the broader objective of achieving a generation capacity of 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040 set by the company.
