The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the People’s Republic of China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic ties and fostering collaboration across multiple sectors. During the eighth session of the Joint Economic, Commercial, and Technical Committee meeting, held recently, both governments agreed to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including the new economy, entrepreneurship, technology, tourism, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), energy, renewable energy, agriculture, aviation, logistics transport, and infrastructure.

Chaired by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the UAE, and His Excellency Wang Wentao, Chinese Minister of Commerce, the committee meeting saw discussions aimed at deepening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for joint ventures and partnerships. Attended by officials from both countries, the meeting underscored the significance of the longstanding strategic partnership between the UAE and China, which spans over 40 years.

In response, Minister Wang Wentao expressed optimism about the future of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the UAE, emphasizing the growing economic and trade relations between the two countries. He commended the forward-looking vision of the leadership of both nations and underscored the importance of joint efforts to explore promising investment opportunities and foster economic growth.

Both parties also expressed their commitment to supporting startups and SMEs in their respective markets, particularly in sectors such as financial technology, healthcare, and innovative technologies. Additionally, discussions centered on promoting joint work in sustainable sectors, including clean energy and smart transportation solutions, as well as increasing Chinese investments in the logistics and infrastructure sectors in the UAE.

Overall, the committee meeting marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between the UAE and China, paving the way for increased collaboration and mutual prosperity in the years to come.
