Melissa Vergel de Dios, PLDT’s chief sustainability officer, emphasized the importance of this transition, stating, โOur pivot to renewable energy transcends efficiency metrics or target achievements. As we all increasingly feel the worsening impacts of climate change, we need to accelerate action and turn these challenges into profound opportunities to work together towards a better future for our planet, our children, and their children.โ
Tony Valdez, ACEN’s senior vice president, expressed pride in the partnership, applauding PLDT for its proactive stance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He noted that PLDT’s initiative serves as inspiration for others to embrace sustainable practices, from supply chain partners to its expansive network.
