Government Launches National Green Hydrogen Mission Portal and Releases Pivotal Reports

The Union Ministry of New & Renewable Energy organized a comprehensive workshop titled โ€œQuality Control in Green Hydrogen: Standards & Testing Infrastructureโ€ at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. This pivotal event aimed at fostering a uniform ecosystem for Green Hydrogen production by establishing robust quality standards and a network of testing facilities to promote the clean energy transition in India.

During this significant gathering, the launch of a specialized portal for the National Green Hydrogen Mission marked a milestone. The portal, unveiled by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, and Shri Bhupinder S. Bhalla, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, aims to centralize information and facilitate steps towards enhancing the green hydrogen infrastructure. The portal is accessible at https://nghm.mnre.gov.in/.

In conjunction with the portalโ€™s launch, two key reports were also introduced: โ€œGreen Hydrogen Standards and Approval Systems in Indiaโ€ and โ€œIndiaโ€™s Green Hydrogen Revolution,โ€ which provide insights into the regulatory and developmental strides in the green hydrogen sector.

The workshop featured five panel discussions, engaging over 300 participants, including experts from top technical institutes, regulators, and industry leaders. The panels addressed critical topics such as the imperatives and challenges in the green hydrogen ecosystem, standards in hydrogen storage, electrolyser manufacturing and performance, production plants, and systems, as well as applications of green hydrogen.

This event not only highlighted the governmentโ€™s commitment to advancing green hydrogen technologies but also underscored the collaborative efforts needed to accelerate Indiaโ€™s clean energy transition.
